Raymarine marine electronics win prestigious 2019 NMEA Awards

Date: 30-Oct-2019

Raymarine’s ClearCruise AR (Augmented Reality) and M400XR Marine Thermal Camera System have both won prestigious NMEA Awards at the 2019 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Marine Electronics Conference & Expo in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Raymarine ClearCruise AR won the coveted NMEA Technology Award with the judges describing ClearCruise AR as “an industry-first technology that combines augmented reality and advanced image stabilisation to help boaters make smarter and faster navigation decisions.”

Noting that it does this by placing visual overlays of nav aids, AIS traffic and destination waypoints on Raymarine Axiom multi-function displays, they went on to say: “The overlays identify nearby AIS-equipped vessels with colour-coding to warn of traffic that could pose threats. At the heart of the system is a blending of high-definition digital or thermal video from networked Raymarine or FLIR marine cameras and dynamic graphics.”

The 2019 NMEA Technology Award is the third major award won by Raymarine’s ClearCruise AR. It also won the 2018 NMMA Innovation Award at the 2018 IBEX Show in Tampa and SAIL Magazine’s 2019 Pittman Innovation Award.

Raymarine’s M400XR Marine Thermal Camera System was also a clear winner on the night, taking out the award for the Best Marine Camera in the highly competitive Product of Excellence Awards.

Designed to deliver enhanced awareness, especially for first responders, the FLIR M400XR camera includes optical thermal zoom, video target tracking and custom fire-fighting software that displays a target temperature meter and isotherms.

Both ClearCruise AR (Augmented Reality) and the M400XR Marine Thermal Camera System are available nationwide through Lusty & Blundell’s nationwide network of leading marine dealers.
