FLIR’s new Ocean Scout TK handheld thermal camera is not only incredibly clever, it is now available in New Zealand for just $1299!

“This is great news for Kiwi boaties,” says Mark Milburn, CEO at FLIR’s New Zealand distributor, Lusty and Blundell Ltd. “Instead of paying almost $4000, they can now enjoy the safety and convenience of a top-of-the-line thermal camera for less than a third of that.”

A fantastic tool in a man-overboard situation, the Ocean Scout TK also makes it easy to pick out kayakers and divers, as well as low-lying objects such as craypots, mooring buoys and debris, at up to 120m. Furthermore, it can do this at any time of the day or night and in any weather conditions.

“The Ocean Scout TK sees things based on heat, not light,” says Mark Milburn. “It doesn’t matter if there is blinding, glaring sun or pitch darkness; or even fog, the thermal images are always clear and easy to identify.

Designed specifically for the marine environment, the Scout TK can also take and store up to 1000 images and record video. It is super simple to use and needs just seconds to get ready.

Pocket-sized, weighing just 170g and ergonomically designed for single hand operation, the Ocean Scout TK is waterproof to IP67 and has a 5-hour rechargeable Li-Ion battery.

The FLIR Ocean Scout TK handheld thermal camera is available soon from Lusty and Blundell’s nationwide network of leading marine dealers.
