Victron adds new 12-12v 70A charger to popular Orion XS DC-DC range

Delivering more charge current in the same compact unit, the new Orion XS 12v-12v 70A charger is ideal for use in both marine and RV dual-battery systems.
Like the rest of the feature-packed Orion XS range, the new 12v-12v 70A charger comes complete with engine shutdown detection (with no external sensor required, smart alternator compatibility, a sophisticated 4-stage charging algorithm and unlimited parallel operation.
DVCC compatible, via GX device, and VE.Direct, it is the most compact, high-power DC-DC charger of its type, delivering up to 98.5 % charging efficiency and maintaining full rated output even at 40°C.
Designed to use engine power to charge a boat’s service battery, while also protecting its start battery, the Orion XS 12-12v 70A draws a stable load from smart Euro 5/6 alternators, preventing the service battery from being undercharged.
With the ability to precisely limit input current to prevent alternator overload and to fully configure the charging voltage to match lithium, AGM, Gel and other battery chemistries, it also automatically detects when the engine is running and shuts down if the alternator not working.
With an IP65 (dustproof and protected against water splash) rating, the 12-12v 70A charger has a technologically advanced aluminium circuit board to aid cooling, making it one of the most sophisticated, as well as compact, powerful and versatile chargers on the market.
